Materials: Cro-hook 5:00 mm or 5:50 mm
           Crochet hook of same size
           Worsted weight yarn -
               8 oz. white
               8 oz. pink (or desired colors)

Row 1:  MC - Using crochet hook and MC, ch 100
             (increase by increments of 5 if desired)
Row 2:  MC - Change to cro hook, insert in 100th ch,
             yo, pull up new lp. Leave on hook.
             *Insert hook in next ch,
             yo pull up new lp.
             Rep from * across row for 100 (25)lps.
Row 3:  CC - Slide work to other end of hook, turn.
             Join cc, yo with cc,
             pull through 1 lp of mc.
             *yo pull through 1 lp of cc and 1 lp of mc.
             Repeat from * across row,
             work of all lps of mc, ending with 1 lp of cc.
             This becomes first lp for nex row.
Row 4:  CC - DO NOT TURN WORK! Work right to left.
             *Insert hook in next ch, yo pull up new lp.
             Leave on hook. Rep fromm *across row,
             for 100 (25) lps.
Row 5:  MC - Slide all work to opposite end of hook, turn.
             Yo with mc, pull through 1 lp of cc,
             *yo pull through 1 lp of mc & 1 lp of cc.
             Rep from * across row working off all lps of cc
             ending with 1 lp of mc; this becomes the first
             lp for the next row.
Row 6:  MC - DO NOT TURN WORK! Work right to left.
             *Insert cro hook in next ch,
             yo pull up new lp & leave on hook.
             Repeat from * across row for 100 (25)lps.
Row 7:  CC - Slide all work to other end of hk, turn.
             Yo with cc, pull through 1 lp of mc,
             *yo pull through 1 lp of cc and 1 lp of mc.
             Repeat from * across row working off all
             lps of mc, ending with 1 lp of cc.
Row 8:  CC - DO NOT TURN WORK! *Insert hook in next ch,
             yo pull up newlp - leave on hook.
             Rep from * across row, for 100 (25)lps.

Repeat rows 5 to 8 until the blanket measures 30" or desired
length ending with row 5 and all lps worked off.
Darn ends in.

Trim : Using crochet hook...
Row 1: Join yarn at the top corner side of the blanket,
       sc in first stitch and in each st evenly around
       three sides of the blanket.
       (The fourth side is left without a border to be used
       as the top of the blanket and is nicer for using
       at baby's face.)
Row 2: Ch 3 turn, miss 1sc, sc in next sc.
       *ch 3, miss 1sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * to corner.
       (Note: at the corners, sc into corner sc, ch 3, sc into
       same corner sc from prev row)- once.
       Repeat from * along other 2 sides of afghan.
Row 3 & 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5. Make a single crochet picot edge row as follows:
       Sl st into ch 3 space,
       *sc in space, (sc, ch 3, sl st into the 1st ch of this ch 3 -
        to form a picot), 2sc in space, sc in next sc.
        Repeat from * around
        ending in last space. Sl st. End off. Darn ends in.
